One thing people seem to be good at is arguing over texts. We can argue different points about the same information. How many interpretations are there for the constitution? And that’s just one language. Hit up the Torah, Bible, or Koran that’s been translated into different languages a few times and it’s absolute chaos. People seem to focus on minutiae instead of the big picture.
I can easily imagine a post-apocalyptic dystopian future where the Star Wars films have become the basis for religion. People will subscribe to their own versions of the Jedi and Sith philosophies and have an overall high regard for the force. Some people will say it’s all fiction. Magicians will use levitation and spoon-bending illusions to “prove” that the force is real.
I can imagine sects breaking out of each group of trilogies, finding their own interpretations of the overall themes to be the only correct way to see things.
Some will say Anakin/Vader brought balance to the force. Some will say it was Luke. Some may focus on the new characters to come. Some cults will say you have to go to the dark side before you can be redeemed by the light and that is the only true path to Jedi salvation.
Some will argue that the original films unedited are the only true word. Some will argue that the standalone films and animated series are like the apocrypha, and can’t be true canon.
Monasteries will open and instead of vows of silence, they will talk like Yoda.
Books will be written trying to prove that the holiday special did in fact exist.
People will kill each other arguing over who shot first.
I think you now have a script for Idiocracy 2: Idiocracier.

OK, so it’s been a while since I’ve been productively making music & actively writing songs. Apparently the bug never goes away. I have been thinking about doing punk rock-ish kids songs for a while. (The Sablowskis beat me to it!)
Yeah, there is the AiXeLsyD reunion gig coming up… whenever that is, and it doesn’t seem like Ernie and the Berts was all that long ago.
I saw a contest online last week and it sparked me to get my ass quickly in gear. Music Go Round in Monroeville is holding a guitar giveaway, and I have been mentally drooling all over Eastwood Guitars online for quite some time. The Side Jack is pretty awesome!
It would be really cool if you could help me win this axe by clicking “like” on this post: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=698216686929723&permPage=1
It may help to follow or like the Music Go Round Monroeville, PA Facebook page too. It has to be on that post on their page, no “likes” here or on my link(s) to it on my Facebook profile count. Voting is only open this week, they pick a winner on the 27th!
As far as the song goes, I threw it together in under an hour with a downloaded app for the tablet, using crappy headphones, the built-in mic on the tablet, and my acoustic guitar down in the basement. I think it shows. But, I still think it’s a hooky tune with some potential. I may have to recruit a few of the usual suspects or even some unusual ones to help me complete the process.
Molly is absolutely terrified of the Chick-fil-A cow. My guess is that other kids are too. Seems like we can find a whole lot more to relate to with some feet-tapping tunes!

The sign outside of Sheffield Lanes/The Fallout Shelter in Aliquippa, PA this weekend.
I’ve noticeably slowed down with blogging. Perhaps I was blogging too much before. Real life has been happening lately. The band played twice this weekend, my real job has been taxing, etc. Perhaps I’ll find inspiration more often in the days to come.
Groupon has successfully shown me what I believe to be the absolute dumbest product ever:
Car Lashes …Wait, car-freaking-lashes?
I could rant about it, but do I really need to? There would a a Herbie/Love Bug joke, pointing out that putting them on a BMW decreases the value/classiness of the car, maybe a joke about truck nuts & just maybe a reference to the movie Cars even though I’ve never seen it. Maybe even a joke about the dude I saw on My Strange Addiction who makes love to his car for the crowd who likes it blue. Maybe even an Optimus Prime humping your car joke. I have finally found something more annoying than flags on cars & more decorative than the mysterious stickermobile. If you’re going to glue stupid stuff to your car, go all the way.
If there are any people out there with money to waste on stupid things, I’m taking donations so I can buy a Flycaster.

As a blogger, I guess I should heed some of these rules? I found this where Ramy dropped it.
How to Write Good
This reminds me of one of the best movies ever.
