Well, I’ve been blogging for a while now, and I enjoy the “stats” quite a bit. (I love the search terms that lead people here.) Lately I’ve been seeing the number of reads, likes, and followers go up… but the comments are staying about the same. I also wonder if the people following & clicking the “ Like” button actually like my posts, or if they’re just web-bots, or looking for links back to their own blog.
I do a lot of my following with Google Reader, not on WordPress. Google seems to do a better job of handling non-WordPress blogs in with the WordPress blogs. The only problem is that my +1‘s or ☆‘s or probably don’t get back to WordPress authors (or other blog authors) as likes.
Have you recently followed me?
Have you recently “liked” one of my posts?
Leave a comment and let me know why you liked the post or why you followed my blog. How did you find me? Tell me something about yourself. I’d really appreciate the feedback! Not that I don’t already appreciate the likes & the follows… but it may even help me post more content that people actually enjoy.

Hi!
Thanks for ‘dropping by’.
Found my way to this post through the trackback / pingback thingy – no comment attached though so thought it was spam to begin with LOL – it went in my trash and then got dragged out again once I decided to click your link 🙂 After reading your post, I thought I’d leave a comment rather than just click the ‘Like’ button 🙂
By the way, I only click it if I either like it or find it interesting etc!
I’m going try harder on the comments bit in future – honest! I’m fairly new to all this and still trying to learn the ‘etiquette’…
I’m now off to try work my way through the links in your post… 🙂
Thanks again!

Thanks for commenting, Jacquie! I see you’re food blogger? You can thank Zemanta for the trackbacks. They recommend some relevant stuff sometimes. Ha ha. I think a lot of people Like & follow w/o commenting. Welcome to the world of blogging!

I never meant to be a food blogger or for it to be a food blog really – hence the wording under the name of the site – I just happened upon it as a title when doing a bit of the old creative bit when trying to think of a catchy name LOL – but when I look back over my initial posts, I do tend to write about food an awful lot 🙂 Hadn’t really given Zemanta much thought even though I have it switched on – now I’ve seen it in use, I may well give it a go 🙂

It’s all good! I’m still trying to decide what exactly to blog about. I apparently lack focus.

Thanks for the follow!
i’ll try and vary the subject matter a bit LOL 🙂 (if only to prove to myself that food isn’t the ONLY thing I think about 🙂 )

Hi,
This is my first visit and I’ve found your site in Google and your website design and layout is amazing!
I can’t give you feedback in my first visit but don’t worry after reading several posts I’ll do that:)
